ULTRASOUND/PVL
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a comfortable, noninvasive procedure. Instead of radiation or magnetic fields, it uses the echoes of high-frequency sound waves to create cross sectional images of the body. Ultrasound is commonly used to view the abdominal and pelvic organs, breast and blood vessels.
PVL
PVL, or peripheral vascular laboratory, studies are noninvasive procedures that use special ultrasound techniques to view veins and arteries. The risk and pain-free procedure can locate image blockages, clots, stenoses, and flow disorders helping your physician determine the best course of treatment. For a pelvic ultrasound, you will be asked to drink water when you arrive.
