CT Computed Tomography

CT scans use rotating X-rays and powerful computers to produce detailed cross sectional images of the internal human anatomy. CT scans are generally superior to MRI studies for examinations of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, paranasal sinuses and skull base. CT also provides detailed images of bones and is useful in trauma patients. Our multislice CT equipment acquires imaging data while you move on a motorized table through the scanner. Each CT scan is made up of dozens of images and is usually completed very quickly.

Our multi-slice CT scanner consists of a table that slides through a large, circular opening housing a rotating x-ray detector. The process is quick and painless. CT scans are often used to examine the chest, abdomen, pelvis, sinuses, ears and bones and for cardiac imaging. Unlike standard, two dimensional X-rays, CT scans create clearer, more detailed, cross- sectional images.
