FAQs | Day of Appointment
After your procedure is scheduled you will receive an appointment confirmation call from our staff. You will be asked some basic information as well as some safety questions. You will be asked if you are allergic to Iodine, seafood or any other food or medication. If you answer yes, it may be necessary that you be premeditated before your CT examination. Our staff is trained to guide you through the steps you need to take if this is required.
During the scheduling procedure, if you are having an exam with contrast, you will be instructed not to have any food or drink 3 to 4 hours prior to your test. You will also be asked if you are on any of the following medications; Glucophage, Glucovance, Metaformin or Avandamet. If you are, you will be asked to not take your medication the day of your CT examination. You will also need to wait 48 hours after your test before resuming your medication. Be sure you discuss this with your physician before discontinuing any prescribed medication.
