CT Scheduling and Confirmation | Day of Appointment
If your physician requests that you have a CT examination of your chest, it may be done with an intravenous contrast injection into a vein in your arm.
During your CT scan you will be asked to lie on the table and instructed when to hold your breath as you pass through the scanner. If your test is scheduled to include contrast, you will receive an injection and then instructed again when to hold your breath as you pass through the scanner and the contrast moves through your body.
Scheduling your CT scan procedure is simple and fast. You can also arrange to have all your imaging needs such as MRI, X-ray and Ultrasound performed on the same day as your CT scan. Walk in appointments are also available between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
We request that you arrive 30 minutes before your procedure. This will allow time for you to complete and review any forms and prepare you for your procedure. Once you are ready for your CT scan, you will be escorted to a secure dressing room where you may be asked to change into modest scrubs. You will then be escorted into the CT scan procedure room. The CT scan technologist will review your medical history and your prescription to insure we are performing the procedure your physician requested. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at any time during your procedure. The technologist will then position you for your CT scan, give you breathing instructions if necessary and complete your procedure.
Once your procedure is complete you will be escorted back to the dressing room and then be released. We will be sure to send the results of your CT scan to your doctor.
If your test is ordered with contrast, we request that you do not have anything to eat or drink 3-4 hours prior to your test.
