What is a CT Body scan?
CT Body Scan is an ultra-fast, three-dimensional CT (Computed Tomography or CAT) scan of the major organs in the chest, abdomen and pelvis. It screens the heart, lungs, liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, adrenals, kidneys, abdominal aorta, pelvis and spine for abnormalities. Some of these abnormalities include tumors, cysts, stones and aneurysms.A CT Body Scan includes a CT Heart Scan that detects hard calcium (atherosclerosis) within the coronary arteries that supply blood to your heart muscle, potentially years before a blockage would show up on a standard stress test or as a life threatening heart attack.
A CT Body Scan also includes CT Lung Cancer Screening, which provides a series of detailed cross-sectional images of the inside of the lungs, screening them for nodules and tumors. This test is considered the gold standard for early lung cancer detection.
