Meet our radiologists

  •  Dr.Hecht-Levitt  

    Charles Hecht-Leavitt, M.D., A.S.N.R., Medical Director, is a neuroradiologist who has practiced radiology in Hampton Roads since 1987. A native of Norfolk, he received his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Hecht-Leavitt completed his radiology residency at Boston University Medical Center and his fellowship in neuroradiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Leslie, married for 31 years, have two children. His interests include sailing, writing, and shooting.

  • Dr.Fanney   

    Daryl R. Fanney, M.D., Director of Body Imaging, has practiced radiology in Hampton Roads since 1990. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and completed his fellowship in abdominal imaging from the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C.

  •   Dr.Torop  

    Andres H. Torop, M.D., Director of Musculoskeletal Imaging, specializes in musculoskeletal radiology and sports medicine imaging. After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, he received his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Pennsylvania Hospital and his fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. 

  •  Carl Bundschuh  

    Carl Bundschuh, M.D., A.S.N.R., holds a certificate of advanced qualifications in Neuroradiology. After attending University at Buffalo for an undergraduate degree in chemistry, he received his MD there. Following a Diagnostic Radiology residency he completed a 2 year Neuroradiology fellowship at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals of Cleveland.  Dr Bundschuh has published primarily in spine imaging.

  •  Dr.Chavis  

    Cyril V. Chavis, M.D., is a neuroradiologist/general radiologist who has practiced radiology in Hampton Roads since 1996. He is a  U.S. Navy Medical Corps Veteran and currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  He received his bachelor of science in engineering from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas and his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  Dr. Chavis completed his internal medicine internship and radiology residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington, D.C.. He completed a two year fellowship in neuroradiology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He and his wife, Arwonder, have been married for 30 years and have four children. His interests include advocacy for healthy living through raising consciousness of the importance of regular medical screenings, healthy nutrition, and regular exercise.
